The Stuart Family Dynasty

The most well-known Stuart monarch is undoubtedly Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots. Mary has been so well remembered because of her tragic life. Some might say that she brought it on herself, while others would say she was a victim of the crown.

Mary’s second husband was her first cousin, Henry Stuart (Lord Darnley). They had a son that was named James – presumably after Mary’s father, King James V. Their son would go on to rule a newly founded Great Britain as King James VI of Scotland/King James I of England.

Who ruled under the Stuart Dynasty prior to Mary and James? Well, you may or may not be surprised to know that the Stuart reign dates back to 1306 when Robert Bruce was crowned King of Scotland.

Anyway, this post was supposed to focus on the dynasty and its rulers, so here is a list for you:
